Mary "Mars" Tadeo was born in Baltimore, Maryland and acquired their BFA in Illustration at the Savannah College of Art and Design in June of 2022. Their art training began in 2010 at the Zoll Studio of Fine Art in Baltimore where they studied representational realism and practiced the techniques of the Old Masters. This is where they honed their technical and observational skills which became the base of all their illustrations moving forward.

 

Mars is currently enjoying their time working out of a home studio in Savannah, Georgia. They find themselves inspired by excellent music, rich colors, and positive vibrations. The basis of Mars' moral philosophy is to treat all sentient beings with respect and equality; working everyday to bring this energy into their artistic practices. Mars spends time exploring and extending their knowledge of new mediums. One of their favorite adventures is seeking out new techniques and styles regularly. The greatest catalysts of joy in their life are live music, plant-based food, and their gorgeous (feline) “daughter” Wallie.
